9 Weeks! Update

I decided to add a photo of one of our flowers with a bee to be positive and fun.  SUMMER! 

My neck incision looks better all the time but still healing to do.  I had the CT last week and the report seems like everything is in place but the calcification is just starting, but I have no idea what it should look like until I get the info from the doctor.  Which could take while! And why?????

 I will tell you!

The IRONIC thing here is that for the past year I have dealt with so much crap from our HC system: delays, depersonalization, to the point of tears.  And I know the system?  And I have a PhD in Healthcare Administration!

(I guess it helped now and again though!) 

Here is the sequence of events to get a CT result to my MD surgeon. 

1. CT done 5/12: Report already in my Epic chart an hour later.
2. I try to give MD office two ways to access my EPIC chart but they do not have EPIC and of course do not allow any outside links for fear of viruses.  I am told by Metro Neurosurgery I have to send a real CD of the CT.
3. Several divergent roads from medical records to get true place to get outpt CD made.
4. I call to get a copy of CD made.  Phil goes to pick it up at the radiology office.
5. CD copier is broken.  receptionist says it won’t be ready til next Wednesday (almost a week) but I figure ok even though Dr. N leaves for India, I can wait.
6. I call on Wednesday.  Get wrong number and try again and get another outpatient radiology.  She says, well we could have given it to you last week! I am embarrassed you can to wait so long. Plus, we can mail it. (Which is news to us.)    
7. We decide to pick it up at the original outpt. CT place bc/ they took pity on me and said, OH we can get it done in an hour (after saying it takes 24-48 but she was another embarrassed person b/c CD copier was fixed the next day as per usual.)
8. I got there and there were TWO COPIES.  The first copy had been made last week but no one told us it was there.   Happily i signed for them and put one in the priority mail for Dr. N.
9. I will phone Dr. N.’s office Friday to see it it arrived. If not, will phone Monday.   

At this juncture I am still needing a couple of naps, have found out that NO I cannot vary my sleep schedule much, and I can feel different issues around my left and right neck and trapezius.  There is a knot still at bottom of skull by surgery at neck on each side (edema too still).   I have to expect this I think! Also my standing and sitting is better and better tolerance for not wearing the neck brace most of the day.  I can feel some varying spasms on L side of face from ear to nose and then it changed to around eyes like a Zorra mask.  Back to behind ear.    Maybe depending on healing area or what I do with my arms?  Exercise tolerance is getting some better and fewer POTS symptoms.  Only low 90s for ambulatory Slowly. It is better than 100s!
