Seven Months!

I forgot that the month had gone by! I feel like changes come slowly.  I was able to be on the plane and it was OK in my head; I was so grateful.  The head did not pop off!  This week Phil and I drove to the coast and had lunch up at Timber Cove, so I was in the car in a very curvy sets of road (slow going) and I had my neck brace on just to be sure.   I didn’t feel any worse from it but was very tired the next day.  We are planning on more car time just to see how I do pain wise.
I am still working hard on PT but had to go back to working small amounts on the subscapular muscles so that I don’t need to use the neck for everything.  I see that when I swim and put my hands over my head it does pull too much on my neck so I am more careful and listening to my body!
For ppl having the same surgery: YES DO IT! My life is SO much better! I have still my normal pains and also some trap and neck pain but there is still healing to be done.   Swelling in my neck is down; still swallowing is hard but some tiny bit better.  (I loved the NO neck wrinkles but…the swelling not so much!)
I will try to add more to guide those who are contemplating this journey.  It does take time!
(Patience, Patience!)
